Teachers in the 21st century confront the challenges opened up by globalisation. Teachers should introduce students to their world, and moreover inculcate in them a sense of their own power to create change in the world. Teachers should not just transmit knowledge to students; they should in still in them a sense of their place in the larger world, and urge them to be active participants in it.
As 21st Century teachers the following foundation skills are very important.
Validate the information
Appropriate functional exploration to any given challenge. The aptitude to find valuable and trustworthy statistics.
Collaboration
Working together to share, support, and compromise on matters perilous to team’s accomplishment.
Communication
The aptitudes to accurately read, write, present, and comprehend ideas between a variety of methods and listeners.
Synthesise Information
Refining and improving original ideas and explore the possibilities.
Problem Solving
Experimentation of new and familiar concepts while processing information until a viable solution is reached.
Leverage of Information
Using something to maximum advantage and demonstrating with proper technology.
The teachers whatever they do in the classroom should be Relevant, Challenging and engaging.
By engaging students help them to be active, for learning, focuses long term results, meaningful application which leads to solve problems and provide meaningful, powerful learning. Always remember that “Who dares to Teach must never cease to Learn.“
