Education is of supreme importance to students.  Studies alone make a person dull and inactive. In order to bring out some spark and keep them active it is sensible to consider performing arts. Art forms like acting, singing, dancing are known as performing arts whereas art forms like painting are known as visual arts. The three main types of performing arts are: Theatre, Dance & Music.

Performing arts are those forms of arts where the artist will use his/her voice or body movement to convey emotions and expressions. There are great benefits related with performing arts. It not only provides occasions to develop creative excitement, also enhances their language and communication skills. The benefits are physical, emotional, social and admire traditions and arts. Art helps to bridge the gap   in improving academic performance. The creativity developed from the arts spill over  into academic development.

Memory: Understanding the dialogues, repetition help to improve the attention and concentration skills. Our brain also requires exercise for  improving memory.

Communication: Help to improve verbal, nonverbal communication , articulation,  modulation end expressive language. Of course, the listening and  observation  skills  transfer to academics.

Concentration: Performance, rehearsals   develop the talent   and skills  to concentrate the mind, body and the voice.

Self confidence: Improvisation is one of the aspects of performing arts which  leads to evaluate the situation, think out of box and facing positively unknown situations also. This confidence is applied to trust themselves and their abilities.

Imagination: As Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge." Creativity and learning different selections leads to better thinking and to new thinking’s and  changes  the  perception to observe the surrounding in new ways.

Compassion and co-operation: Appreciating the characters, responsibility and implication of plays help them to relate improved to different situations, background, traditions  and encourages to show compassion and acceptance of others.

Performing arts is collaboration and team work   of different players and the quality depends on an ensemble performance.

Emotional outlet: It is a media to express a variety of emotions and to understand and to handle similar feelings experienced by them and are released in a safe  controlled   surrounding.

Of course it brings humour, amusement to the performers and reduces stress. Positive approach to arts and culture help to bring joy and blissful time. Drama and performing arts  create a rich array of reciprocal benefits for both students and society. At Helikx performing art have been part of the curriculum and we have also enjoyed seeing the way in which it has helped our students to improve their overall academic results.
