Libraries were there since time immemorial. In Puranas and vedas the traditional manuscripts form the libraries for education purpose. As time passed on and printing technology developed, books took the place of manuscripts. And later in the 21st century digitalization has taken account of various books, where e-books are on finger tips which are easily

accessible than going around and searching for dust crowded books.

Students' necessity for books are more important than any other sections. So a school library is very important in a student’s construction of knowledge. These books are made available to the students to increase their knowledge and understanding on various subjects. A school library plays a great role in the life of a student. The school library is integral to the teaching and learning process. The school library facilitates the work of the classroom teacher and ensures each student has equitable access to resources, irrespective of home opportunities or constraints.

Provide and promote quality of reading

Provide and promote quality fiction to develop and sustain in students the habit and enjoyment of reading for pleasure and to enrich students’ intellectual, aesthetic, cultural and emotional growth.

Provide teachers with access to relevant curriculum information and professional development materials within and outside the school; and opportunities to cooperatively plan, implement and evaluate learning programs.

The library’s physical and digital spaces connect readers and learners to their peers, to others within the school and the wider community, or even globally. The library welcomes people in and provides a safe space for them to be. This is true of both the physical and virtual library spaces.
