History was the toughest in my school days. I usually got scolded by my teachers and parents on securing less mark. When I reached the tenth standard I was afraid to sit in the class, because the class was handled by the manager of the school, a frightening figure of that time. To my surprise, that old priest made me score A grade in my final examination. Lessons he taught are still my mind. Now I understood that it’s not the subject but the way he taught us made the difference and helped me to score high marks. He taught us history like a story. He didn’t give us answers; he scolded us for using guides; more than that he never gave a lecture. Entering the class he used to make us write down what he said and to read it at home. Whenever we took the note, we could feel it like reading an interesting story. It was an effort of an experienced teacher.

Here I suggest specific activities that can help teachers to reach out students using Bloom’s taxonomy. I have designed the activities based on Tamil Nadu’s tenth standard text book’s chapter on Social and Religious Reform Movements in 19th century.
